I am a bit of a vitamin fanatic.  I have tried all different brands (cheap to expensive- organic to not) over the last 3 years.  When I started my weightloss journey I discovered how important vitamins are.  If you are vitamin deficent it is harder to loose weight.
I honestly believe in a good regiment.
Right now I am taking Advocare vitamins. One of my favorite things about them are the convient packs they come in.

I throw them in my bag and I have no excuse to not take them.
Over a month ago I did Advocare’s 24 day challenge.  It started off with a cleanse (another thing I love!) With all the fiber packed goodness the kit includes a probiotic.  Holy cow instantly I realized how much that little gem does for my stomach!  I re-ordered my vitamins late and went 6 days without a probiotic and I defiantly noticed the difference.  I was back to feeling all bloaty after eating anything so I was excited when my vitamins arrived.

A big thing to remember when taking vitamins is WATER WATER WATER!  Recent studies have shown an increase of kidney stones (ouch!) with people taking vitamins and not drinking water to flush it through their system… and it needs to be flushed through your system to get the full benefits of the vitamins!!  So remeber to drink your water!!

Back on track

Over father’s day weekend, my workouts crashed and burned and Monday was full of laziness after my husband took off to Montana for work.  My intent was to hike this weekend, but we ended up driving around in the woods, stopping to let the kids (furry ones too) get out and play and fish.
I was extremely proud of how well I ate during our woodland misadventures!  I’m still kicking myself for devouring a mosse tracks waffle cone ice cream –  it tasted aweful and I should have tossed it, but it was from a small town and it cost half a fourtune.  I hate wasted food.  I guess I’m more upset for paying that much and it taste like crap than actually eating it 🙂
Tuesday morning I woke up at 5 am bound and determined to get back in workout mode.  I sped walked 1.9 miles and came back and did 3 sets of squats, 2 sets of lunged, 3 sets of side bends, and an assortment of an workouts.  I felt so good afterwards!

Breakfast was 1/2 c Greek yogurt with granola, rasins, and a tsp of PB with a small scoop of coconut flakes, and black coffee.  I sat at the table with the kids and read them Shel Silberstein poems.  It was such fun I full intend to do it again this morning!
Mid morning I decided I needed to torture myself – I couldn’t put it off any longer.  I had to go to Wal-Mart with 3 kids… Hell on earth.  But I hadn’t been in over a month so my list was getting pretty big.  The kids did really well and I promised if they were good I would buy them a starwberry lemonaide from Starbucks.

At checkout from Wal-Mart I got overheated and hunger hit quick.  A skinny coconut latte and a cliff bar helped 🙂
It didn’t hold me over too long and so I took a break from cleaning and made a salad.

I topped it with leftover homemade pesto noodles and a small around of oil and basamic vinegar…. Of course the boys ate most of it!

Later I whipped up a buterfinger shake as I know call them.  1/4 C Greek yogurt, 2 tbs PB2, and coconut milk.  Coconut milk is the way to go!  I drank the damn thing faster than it took me to make it :/

Dinner was odd.  I couldn’t decided what I wanted, so I tossed everything that sounded good together.  It hit the spot!

Hard boiled egg, wild rice, corn, and a BBQ’D yam.  I just can’t get enough of yams lately!!

It was a good day to get back on track!

On some levels, I am the worst impulse shopper.  The other day I was on Amazon searching for an ice cream maker.  I want to start making our own frozen yogurt and some how I end up looking at “Yonanas” to make banana soft serve.  I myself, have always used my mixer, but now they have a new contraption made strictly for banana soft serve.  I LOVE reading reviews and can spend a whole lot of wasted time reading reviews for produces I will never buy…. Such as the yonana…
One review stated it was a waste and you can do the same thing in a blender (duh!), and then gave a quick recipe that called for PB2.  Holy cow what is PB2?  And like numerious times before Amazon reads my mind (please tell me it does that to you too!) and in the “what others bought” is PB2!  After spending more wasted time reading countless reviews on PB2. I purchased it… Damn Prime gets me every time… Ok it was really the chocolate PB2 🙂

What is Pb2?  Well basicly it is powdered peanut butter that has 85% less fat than regular peanut butter!  2 TBS = 45 calories, 10 fat calories, 1g total fat.
Now you only get 15 servings in a jar so for a family this might not be a good selection, but for a person watching their weight and likes peanut butter, it is a god send!
Chocolate and peanut butter are my weakness so it was a no brainer purchasing both jars through Amazon for $10.99.

First thing this morning I whipped up a shake

In my BlenderBottle I added:
1/4 cup vanilla Greek yogurt
2 TBS chocolate PB2
Almond milk to the 12oz line and shook it well.  Wowza!  It was like drinking a butterfinger!!

Later I decided to make some peanut butter up for a taste test.

2 TBS PB2 powder
1 TBS water

It has a different texture, maybe I needed to mix it more, but it wasn’t bad.

seal of approval from the Peanut Butter Bug

I plan on playing around with a few more recipies, but so far, I am pretty dang happy with this Amazon impulse buy!

Are you an impulse shopper?

Justin’s Chocolate Almond Butter

Today we took a spontaneous trip to Wenatchee.  My husband needed to install an elevator phone (ya you read that right) & thought I could use a visit with my mama.
I on the other hand had one mission… Justin’s Almond Butter… Preferably chocolate of course!
I have been dying to try it since I read about it, and after scouring the 3 ma and pop stores in our small town, I knew it would only be purchased on my next trip to Wenatchee.

Thank you Fred Meyers!! $9.99 for a jar was well worth it in my mind.  It is soooooo good!  Good thing I’m coming back next weekend so I can grab a few more!

I always eat horrible when I come to my moms.  Her house is littered with candy, chips, and crackers so I made it a point to eat healthy as possible today.  Lunch was light because I am unsure where dinner
will land us.
Lunch was:
1 individual container of Oikos vanilla yogurt
1 tbs Justin’s Chocolate Almond Butter
1 banana
Handfull of granola

What a good lunch, I am stuffed by just that little mason jar of goodness!!

Up and at ‘em

My intentions were to do 2+ miles, down to the main road and back, but this morning my “Wanna-be dog” G decided to tag along. He then gave up in prime coyote crossing and after refusal from Copper to stay behind and protect him, I gave up and turned around. I would rather loose half a work out than a wanna-be dog like G….

After getting home I did a little weights:

2 sets squats with 10 lb weight

2 sets lunges

2 sets side bendies

Assortment of ab workouts

Yesterday we took the kids to hike up Strawberry Mountain. 1+ miles up.. well… a mountain. I kept calling it Strawberry hill – but it is no hill my friends. So my legs were super sore today, and I twisted my knee so I didn’t want to push it. wa-wa-wa! The boys did great. It was their first up hill hike. Everything else has been through the valleys with mild inclines. Zion broke down at the last part when he saw the steep climb, but dad wouldn’t let him stop. What a dad! I had me a teary moment at the top when Kevin look at a super excited Zion and told him “don’t stop just because it is hard, never give up. Just slow down and take it one step at a time” That is all around great advice. That is why I love that man!! Pics? Ya, I forgot my camera and phone.

Last nights dinner was amazing!!!

BBQed meatballs on a bed of spinach (from the garden) with rice and peppers! It was delicious!!!!

I then ate a skinny cow chocolate ice cream sandwich for desert!

My day started 30 minutes late.  After shutting off the 5 am alarm, I dozed back off.  But at 5:30 I jumped up, grabbed my jogging clothes, phone, water and was out the door… only to notice that my tummy was not too happy about the abrupt morning wake-up!  My mile jog, turned out to be a mile brisk walk.  1.12 miles in 18:02 min according to mapmyrun.  Not the best time, but on the way back my stomach felt better and I was amped to start some weights:

3 sets of squats with a 10 lbs weight

3 sets of lunges

3 sets side bends with a broom (rid me of those LOVE HANDLES PLEASE!!!!)

assortment of ab workouts

After that it was a quick shower and breakfast by 7am  –  1/2 c oatmeal with 1/2 packet of stivia sugar, cinnamon, and 1tsp coconut oil.

We have been waiting for 5-6 loads of rocks to be delivered but thanks to the rain we have been “playing it by ear” since Saturday.  Now Tuesday, he said he would be here bright and early.  I guess my “bright and early” is different from others, as it is 10AM!   I don’t like waiting when it can easily be avoided by a phone call, but you get what you get in a small town.
